Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other teachers to develop age-appropriate curriculum
• Prepare for lessons by gathering materials or setting up activities
• Read stories and lead children through letter recognition and number recognition
• Engage and encourage children to use their language skills, develop social skills and manners
• Monitor Children during playtime and physical activities
• Work with individual children or small groups of children to reinforce learning of material
• Enforce school-wide safety procedures, disciplinary codes, and rewards
• Supervise children in class, between classes, during snack, and playtime
• Ensure space and shared toys are clean, sanitized, and orderly
• Document the child's developments and progress to share with a parent
• Patient and compassionate to young children's needs and emotions

Requirements

• Completed training at an accredited Centre - Diploma in AMI / OUSL
• GCE O/L qualified with a minimum of 6 passes including Credit passes for Sinhala and
• Mathematics and GCE A/L with 3 passes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Higher Qualification in Preschool and Early Childhood Teaching & Education is an advantage.
